Local Sites that Serve Summer Meals

Free and Reduced Meals

If you believe your household qualifies for free or reduced meals based on the current USDA Income Eligibility Guidelines, please completethe National School Lunch Program (NSLP) application. To obtain a form in another language, please visit the USDA Free Free and Reduced application site.

Determination letters will be mailed once the application has been processed. Please retain the letter for your records.

Students directly certified by the State of Illinois in July will not need to complete a Food or Fee Waiver application.

Elementary & Middle School

The elementary and middle schools food service vendor is OrganicLife.

The elementary and middle schools participate in the School Breakfast Program (SBP) and the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and are subject to USDA guidelines.

Under the Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010 and the National School Lunch Program, the required components of a “meal” to be offered include:

  • fluid milk
  • grains
  • meat/meat alternates
  • fruits
  • vegetables.

(Students are required to take at least 3 of the 5 components offered and one component must be a fruit or vegetable.)

For the School Breakfast Program (SBP), the required components of a “meal” to be offered include:

  • fluid milk
  • grains and/or meat/meat alternatives
  • fruits and/or vegetables.

(Students are required to take at least 3 of the 4 components offered.)

2024-2025 Lunch & Breakfast Meal Prices:

Elementary Breakfast - $2.00
Reduced Breakfast - $0.30*

Elementary Lunch - $3.50
Reduced Lunch - $0.40 *

Middle School Breakfast - $2.00
Reduced Breakfast - $0.30*

Middle School Lunch - $3.75
Reduced Lunch - $0.40*

Milk - $0.60 (when purchased separately from meals)
A la carte items - prices vary

Charging Policy:

There may be times when a student is in need of charging a meal due to forgetting his/her lunch money. District 303 has a policy in place to support these times.

  • Hunger-Free Students Bill of Rights: Students will be allowed to choose a lunch regardless of whether the student has the ability to pay or has a negative balance on their meal account.
  • Meals are considered full reimbursable meals and will continue to be debited from the student’s meal account.
  • Electronic notifications will be sent on the 15th of every month. Once a student balance is negative, only a value meal purchase will be allowed.
  • Unpaid student accounts, including student fee accounts and student meal accounts, are subject to collections.
  • Please note that ala carte items including single cartons of milk, may not be charged to a negative balance account.

High School

The High School food service vendor is Quest Food Management Services.

The High Schools do NOT participate in the School Breakfast Program (SBP) nor in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP); however, a variety of healthy and delicious meals are offered daily along with an extensive selection of a la carte items.

Charging Policy:

Electronic notifications will be sent on the 15th of every month when a student has a negative balance. Once a student balance is negative, only a value meal purchase will be allowed.

Please note that ala carte items including single cartons of milk, may not be charged to a negative balance account.

Unpaid student accounts, including student fee accounts and student meal accounts, are subject to collections.

Wellness Committee

The District 303 Wellness Committee is made up of administrators, teachers, health professionals and parents who provide support for and promote wellness activities and initiatives in all schools as they relate to School Board Policy 6:50. These activities may include healthy eating, physical activity, and wellness curriculum.
