I just read an article about the new AI-powered Stingray model for innovation, which aims to replace the traditional Double Diamond model. This new approach leverages AI to streamline processes, eliminate biases, and deliver practical solutions more efficiently. As technology continues to evolve, it's exciting to see how AI can transform our methods and enhance our ability to innovate. Highly recommend checking it out!#Innovation #AI #DesignThinking #StingrayModel #TechInnovation

AI-powered innovation is revolutionizing the business world and changing the way we approach design and innovation projects. The traditional 'Double Diamond' model, which has served teams well for almost two decades, needs to evolve with the rise of AI. In response, Board of Innovation recognizes this shift and offers insights into how businesses can adapt. Check out their "Stringay" model here: https://rb.gy/ttz2u7 and https://lnkd.in/g-q_8nKY #AI #innovation #designthinking

I don't understand why AI is being criticized for using too much electricity. This criticism seems misdirected and against progress. It's ironic that air conditioners are known for consuming a lot of power, yet AI is being singled out. We need to acknowledge that innovation often requires energy. Instead of slowing down technological advancements, we should focus on finding sustainable solutions.

This may be a classic "reductive argument" of "using too much electricity". But there are concerns with #AI's use of the electrical grid, but it's complicated: Meta's current AI cluster uses ~180kWh (256 H100s and a Grace), while plans for their next cluster will exceed 350,000 GPUs. That's going from the energy use of a small town of 10,000 homes to the power draw of Portland, Oregon in a year or two. Now remember Meta is not the only one wanting to scale out their #GPU clusters as well as continuously adding traditional x86_64 and ARM computing. Grids already need substantial modernization and improvements (see Texas and California, eek!, ISO-New England has it together though...) The typical data center is already pulling from the grid (depending on scale) 20MW or more. 2.3 billion kWh is the amount of just "green energy" Microsoft purchases every year. So maybe "using too much" is oversimplified, but keeping pace with the energy needs of ever-increasing data center demands against the rest of the grid is a real challenge to manage. The data center energy density is always increasing (used to be 10s of kWh/rack, now can >100kWh/rack), making data center energy density usage >~10x that of an American home. AI's energy usage presents a real set of problems to be monitored and fixed as issues are identified, but yeah, the Luddite response is overly reductive.

Green AI, also known as sustainable AI or eco-friendly AI, encompasses the application of AI technologies with the goal of minimising their adverse environmental effects and helps to foster sustainability. It is about harnessing the power of AI whilst being mindful of the broader ecological implications. This concept has gained significant traction among businesses within the health and care sectors who are seeking to align their efficiency in operations whilst also considering their environmental responsibilities. One of the primary objectives of Green AI is to pinpoint areas within organisations where energy is being inefficiently utilised. By doing so, organisations can streamline their operations, and enhance their efficiency. This approach not only benefits the bottom line but also contributes to a reduction in the overall carbon footprint. It is crucial to emphasise that Green AI is not about replacing human involvement but rather complementing and augmenting human efforts. Instead of taking over the world, intelligent AI technologies are integrated into various processes to assist and enhance human decision-making and actions. By doing so, Green AI not only improves how we work but also champions sustainability by ensuring that AI applications are designed and implemented with the environment in mind.At the forefront of helping to revolutionise care delivery, NDGAI is the leader in its field. We never stop innovating. We will continue to push through the boundaries and continue our developments to help improve the lives of those that work in care, provide care, and receive care. Collectively we can make a positive impact on the world.www.ndgai.com#optifai #AIforHealth #SustainableAI #healthcarerevolution #gogreen

“It’s going to be interesting to see how society deals with artificial intelligence, but it will definitely be cool.”—Colin Angle - iRobot The CEO of iRobot may have a more optimistic view of the long-term impact of AI than myself, but the fact remains that the WEC found that 87% of companies believed that digital will disrupt their industries within the coming years (With less than 50% saying they were prepared for it) For this reason, change and transformation projects are essential to companies' chances of thriving and surviving in a fast-changing environment. With around 90% of Change & Transformation projects failing (According to IEEE), It's essential that companies are being led by digitally competent teams.Check out this article by UK Tech News on how to give your digital transformation project the best chance of success:https://lnkd.in/ercgkF8h
