Guide

The Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader mount is obtained by completing the Ohn’ahran Plains themed meta achievement, Centaur of Attention. This achievement is comprised of 8 smaller achievements for doing various things around the Dragon Isles.

Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader (2)

There is not really an accurate time estimate I can give on how long it will take to complete as certain sub-achievements, particularly Tetrachromancer, are based entirely off of luck. In this guide, I will go over each achievement one by one below.

Hunt Master

This achievement requires you to complete every possible Grand Hunt in the Dragon Isles. Grand Hunts are an event you unlock at renown 5 with the Maruuk Centaur faction. If you haven’t hit that renown level yet, check the dropdown below for ideas on how to gain renown.

How to gain renown with the Maruuk Centaur

There are several ways to gain renown with the Maruuk Centaur faction:

  • Completing Maruuk Centaur world quests in the Ohn’ahran Plains. The best time to do these is when theSign of the Emissarybonus event is up as it doubles the reputation gained from world quests.
  • Completing main and side quests in the Ohn’ahran Plains
  • Completing the Weekly Quest Aiding the Accord
  • Killing rares and opening treasures in the Ohn’ahran Plains for Centaur Hunting Trophies (unlocked at renown 2)
  • Completing quests for Clan Aylaag when they move to a new location (unlocked at renown 4)
  • You can also purchase Contract: Maruuk Centaurfrom the auction house to gain rep with this faction every time you do a World Quest in the Dragon Isles.

After reaching renown 5, you’ll then need to complete the quest Call of the Hunt given by the ohuna Roki. Roki should just appear beside you when you’re in the Dragon Isles. You may also need to complete the quest License to Hunt given by Hunt Instructor Basku at the coordinates 64 41 in Maruukai.

Grand Hunt Info

The Grand Hunt is always active and moves between the four main Dragon Isles zones of Ohn’ahran Plains, Waking Shores, Thaldraszus and Azure Span. The Hunt will stay in one zone for two hours before moving to the next. As soon as the current Hunt ends, another will begin in a separate location. Each Hunt has six stages and these stages will be random every time. They often require killing mobs or bosses, collecting items, helping people or animals, among other things.

You can check which zone the Hunt is at any time by looking at the Dragon Isles continent map. This only seems to work if you are currently in the Dragon Isles though! You can also check without even being on the game by visiting the Today in WoW section of the Wowhead homepage under Dragonflight.

Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader (3)

Once you’ve discovered where it is, you can zoom into that zone’s map and should be able to find exactly where the hunt is. You will need to speak to Scout Tomul to start the hunt if it hasn’t been started yet. Someone will also need to speak to her again after the sixth stage is complete to finish the Grand Hunt. Now back to the achievement info!

You’ll need to complete every Grand Hunt as mentioned. There are 3 in Ohn’ahran Plains, 3 in Waking Shores, 3 in Azure Span and 2 in Thaldraszus. If you have the time, you can complete an entire zone’s Hunts in a single sitting. You do this by completing the first Grand Hunt wherever it is. Let’s say Western Azure Span. Once you’ve done the Western one, the Grand Hunt should either go to the Eastern or Southern location. After completing this, it should go to the last one you need instead of back to Western. It sometimes doesn’t though so you may have to do the Hunts multiple times to get it to go where you need.

Longhunter

This achievement is pretty simple. You will just need to complete 100 Grand Hunt stages, which you should get most of by working on a lot of the other hunt related achievements mentioned here.

Each hunt has six stages so you would need to complete 60 Grand Hunts in total to get this achievement.

The Best At What I Do

To complete this achievement, you will need to kill 30 bosses during a Grand Hunt. A boss is any singular elite enemy that you’ll have to fight. In my experience, there is usually always an end boss for the sixth stage. However, a Grand Hunt can have anywhere between 0 and 3 bosses per.

Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader (4)

The Disgruntled Hunter

For this achievement, you will need to find Hemet Nesingwary Jr. at every possibly hunt location. This can be done alongside the Hunt Master achievement. You must speak to him for it to count. Hemet also tends to be on cliffs and ledges that are high up.

Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader (5)

I’ve given the coordinates and a map for all locations he will appear at below. Note that he will only be in the ACTIVE Hunt area. So, if the hunt is in Southern Waking Shores, he can only be found in that location.

Additionally, Hemet can apparently die during the Northern Thaldraszus hunt to random mobs in the area. Make sure to get there as soon as possible. During the Eastern Azure Span hunt, he can be hard to spot as there is a mining node that spawns in the same location. I would suggest using a targeting macro like the one below if you cannot see him right away.

Tetrachromancer

This achievement is obtained by collecting all possible colors for your Bakar and Ohuna hunting companions. You unlock hunting companions at renown 9 with the Maruuk Centaur via the quest Hunting Tactics: Companion given by Trainer Frodrum in Maruukai.

For Bakar, there are 5 colors: Black, Brown, Orange, White and Golden Brown.

For Ohuna, there are 4 colors: Dark, Brown, Sepia and Red.

You have a small chance to loot these colorations from the Grand Hunt Spoils, which you receive upon completion of a Grand Hunt. The higher the rarity, the better the chances are. You will get a purple box, then blue, then green once per week per character. After that, you will only get white boxes.

Since purple boxes have the highest chance to drop a coloration, I would strongly recommend doing at least one Grand Hunt on all of your eligible alternate characters each week! As long as you have unlocked Grand Hunts on one character, you will be able to do them on all of your characters.

If you lack or run out of alts, I would suggest making class trials. To do so, you need to go into a new character creation page and select the following checkbox.

Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader (10)

Class trials will start at level 60. Use your capital city portal to go to Valdrakken. Fly to the next Grand Hunt and take part in it. You might want to join a group if you’re on a small population server as your character will be pretty weak and maybe unable to solo complete tasks. Completion of a Hunt will earn you the same rewards as if it was a normal character!

IMPORTANT: You can only make eight trial characters per week. That being said, it may be worthwhile to get the purple, blue and green bags from each trial character before making a new one.

Who’s a Good Bakar?

For this achievement, you will need to pet all 20 bakar located in the Ohn’ahran Plains. For most of the bakar, you can simply fly to them and pet them. However, there are some that have prerequisite quests you must complete. To pet a bakar, you click on it and wait for the petting channel to be done.

Adventurer of the Ohn’ahran Plains

This achievement requires you to kill 10 out of 35 possible special encounter/rare mobs in the Ohn’ahran Plains. I will go over each and every rare as I can’t predict which will be available to you when you’re trying to get this achievement!

Most of these rares are straightforward but there are some that have quirks, such as ones that are only available during certain times or events. Below is a map and coordinates for all rares except those that have multiple spawn locations as they would add a lot of clutter. If a rare has a red star next to it, it has a quirk that I’ve touched on below. I’ve also gone over multiple spawn point rares. If you do not see a rare mentioned, assume it functions as normal rare does. Some of the rares listed simply do not show up on the main map or minimap but rest assured– they still count for the achievement!

It may be worth it to download an addon such as RareScanner or SilverDragon as they will give you a popup and audio notification whenever you’re close to a rare. You can also customize them if neither of those options sound particularly good to you. These addons can be especially helpful for rares with multiple spawn points!

Multiple spawn points

Nokhud Warmaster can spawn in several locations however it will only spawn during the Clan Aylaag Caravan event. This is when Clan Aylaag chooses to move from one location to another and it happens every 3 days. More specifically, it can spawn when the Clan is on the trail from the River Camp to Eaglewatch Outpost.

Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader (13)

Zarizz

Old Stormhide & The Great Enla also only spawn when Clan Aylaag is moving from one location to the other. In their case, it is when the Clan moves from Eaglewatch Outpost to Aylaag Outpost. They both can spawn around the coords 66.8 49.6 OR 60, 49.6.

Spawn quirks

Cinta the Forgotten can only spawn when Clan Aylaag is at the western camp, Eaglewatch Outpost.

Eaglemaster Niraak may spawn on her own but it is said killing Nohkud Mystic-Hunter and Nohkud Marauder mobs in the area may help shorten her spawn time.

Hamett will only spawn when Clan Aylaag is stationed at the northern camp, Aylaag Outpost. It is said that killing Sutaan and other rockfang cats can cause Hamett to spawn.

Hunter of The Deep requires a small minigame to spawn. Head to his area at the coordinates 80.6 42.2. If he can be spawned, you will see several glowing pools of fish. Click on the weapon rack nearby to pick up a weapon. You need to spear all the fish before Hunter of The Deep will spawn. If you’re having trouble, a Wowhead commenter suggested climbing up on the rock to the left of the weapon rack. Aim just behind each of the 3 pools in the back and it should make it easier.

Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader (14)

Makhra the Ashtouched apparently only spawns when Clan Aylaag is at the Eaglewatch Outpost.

Porta the Overgrown requires the Clan Aylaag to be at the River Camp as Enriched Soil is only available when they are at that camp. First, check to make sure the Odd Mushroom is up at the coordinates 9.71, 68.10. If not, you’ll have to wait until it is.

Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader (15)

If the mushroom is available, you will need to gather 5x Enriched Soil which can be looted from the bottom of the lake in the Mirror of the Sky zone. It can also be looted near the bottom of waterfalls.

Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader (16)
Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader (17)

After you’ve gathered five, use the Enriched Soils on the mushroom. Afterward, Porta the Overgrown should spawn.

\
Quackers the Terrible
requires Clan Aylaag to be at the River Camp as you’ll have to pick up the Duck Trap Kit in the camp at the coords 70.40 63.54. You will then need to gather 1x Large Sturdy Femur, 3x Contoured Fowlfeather and 2x Tallstrider Sinew. These can all be purchased off of the auction house. Once you’ve gotten them, combine all of the parts together to make an Empty Duck Trap.

Head south of the River Camp to the coordinates below and you’ll find a Large Nest.

Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader (18)
Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader (19)

Nearby, you should see Pinewing Mallard mobs. Throw the Empty Duck Trap on one to capture it and receive a Trapped Duck. Place the Trapped Duck at the Large Nest and Quackers the Terrible should appear!

Rustlily & Zerimek
will only spawn when Clan Aylaag is at the Eaglewatch Outpost as well.

Scaleseeker Mezeri
requires some preparation first. You’ll need to acquire a Sugarwing Cupcake. These can be bought on the auction house, though they might be a bit expensive. If you’d like a cheaper alternative, you can buy some cupcakes from Xemah the Spa Bartender at the Serene Dreams Spa in Thaldraszus. He is on the floating island.

Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader (20)
Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader (21)

After acquiring a Sugarwing Cupcake, find Dawnbell in the Ancient Bough area, near the Emerald Dream portal in the Ohn’ahran Plains. Dawnbell is a very small faerie dragon that flies around the area.

Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader (22)
Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader (23)

If Dawnbell is not there, you’ll have to wait until she is to summon the rare. Once found, interact with her to feed her the cupcake. She will then lead you to Scaleseeker Mezeri, though it does take awhile for her to get there.

Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader (24)

Vaniik the Stormtouched
will only spawn when Clan Aylaag is at their southernmost location, the River Camp.

Windscale the Stormborn
apparently only spawns when Clan Aylaag are at the River Camp. At the coordinates 84 48, you’ll see several Nokhud Galebringers channeling lightning onto an egg. Killing all these mobs will cause the egg to break open and inside is Windscale the Stormborn!

Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader (25)

Windseeker Avash
is also tied to killing mobs in the area, just like Eaglemaster Niraak!

Zarizz
has a unique method of spawning. First, make sure that there are two to four Juvenile Wind Serpent NPCs in the area around the coordinates 30, 62. If there is not, you won’t be able to summon Zarizz and must wait.

Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader (26)

Stand near the Juveniles and they should hiss at you every so often. Contrary to popular belief, you do not have to /hiss emote back at them, but you can if you’d like. After about a minute or several hisses, one of the Juveniles should let out a piercing shriek that will cause Zarizz to spawn!

Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader (27)

Zenet Avis is highly contested due to it dropping the Zenet Hatchling mount. Additionally, it’s respawn time is pretty long at 2-10 hours.

Specific schedule rares

Fulgurb
Malsegan
Mirkin of the Raging Winds
Oshigol
Researcher Sneakwing
Rosnak the Decimator
Steamgill

All of the rares mentioned above are part of a 28 rare cycle that includes rares from each of the 4 main Dragon Isles zones. One of the rares spawns every 30 minutes so it takes a total of 14 hours to get through them all before the cycle resets again.

Here is a very useful googledoc that lists the spawn schedule of all the affected rares for both North America and Europe. Alternatively, you can look on the first page of Wowhead in the “Today in WoW” section under Timed Dragon Isles Rares to see which ones will be spawning in the next 2 hours. Make sure to click the appropriate region and expansion options!

Treasures of the Ohn’ahran Plains

To complete this achievement, you will need to collect six treasures in the Ohn’ahran Plains. The first four of the six listed are easy to get while the last two have a level of randomness.

Slightly Chewed Duck Egg

To start, head to Maruukai in the Ohn’ahran Plains. You’re looking to find the bakar Ludo, who patrols up and down the southern entrance into the city. He can also be in the area where Beastmaster Tiren is.

Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader (29)

If you’re having trouble spotting Ludo, try using a macro to target him.

/tar Ludo

Once you’ve found him, click on him to take the item he’s holding in his mouth. Doing so will give you Ludo’s Stash Map. Right click it in your inventory in order to activate it. You should see a little treasure chest on your map now where the stash is. If not, I’ve provided coordinates below.

Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader (30)

Click on the Dirt Mound to open it. Inside will be a Slightly Chewed Duck Egg. After waiting 3 real life days, you will be able to open the egg. Inside is the Viridescent Duck pet!

Cracked Centaur Horn

This treasure is very simple. Just head to the coordinates given below and click the Centaur Horn. You’ll receive the Ohn Lite Branded Horn toy from it! Sometimes a treasure chest will also spawn in front of the horn that you can loot for additional items, even though it’s not part of the achievement!

Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader (31)
Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader (32)

Gold Swog Coin

This is another easy treasure. Go to the coordinates below and you’ll reach a cave entrance. Head into the cave. The treasure you seek is right next to The Great Swog on the ground, near the back of his gold pile. It is small so it may be hard to see.

Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader (33)
Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader (34)

Yennu’s Boat

To start on this treasure, go to the coordinates given.

Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader (35)

You’ll see a small waterfall. On the middle level of the waterfall that has red flowers, you should see a tiny boat that is stuck on a rock underwater.

Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader (36)

Pick up the boat and you’ll get Yennu’s Toy Boat. You should also get an automatic quest popup that requires you to return the boat to its rightful owner, Yennu.

Yennu can be found just slightly upriver to the south at the coordinates 52.5 61.1. He does walk around a bit so if you don’t see him at the exact coordinates, he should still be nearby.

Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader (37)

Turning in the quest will award you the Wheeled Floaty Boaty Controllertoy!

Nokhud Warspear

The next two treasures are where it gets more complicated. First, let’s talk about how to unlock treasure maps as you’ll need to loot one to find this treasure.

How to Unlock Treasure Maps

To unlock the ability to loot treasure maps in the Dragon Isles, you need to first lootDragon Isles Supply Bagfrom anyPrimal Proto-Drakelocated in the Waking Shores. They are especially common in the north east section of the map, near where you landed after taking the zeppelin when you first came to the Dragon Isles. After looting it, complete the associated item quest.

You should then be able to pick up the quest Funding a Treasure Hunt from Cataloger Jakes at the coordinates 76.6 34.2. Next, buy the map Archeologist Artifact Notesfrom her and use it to find the first intro treasure, Golden Dragon Goblet. The goblet is actually part of the Treasures of the Waking Shores achievement.

Back to the Nokhud Warspear

Now, you can begin the hunt to get the Nokhud Armorer’s Notes treasure map, which is required to be able to find and loot the Nokhud Warspear treasure. This item can be found in most chests/treasures but it has a very low drop chance. The most farmable are Expedition Scout’s Pack, which is unlocked atrenown 2 withDragonscale Expedition and Disturbed Dirt, which requires renown 5. They can be found in any of the four main Dragon Isles zones.

To dig the Disturbed Dirt, you need a shovel. One option is the Small Expedition Shovel which you can buy for 15 Dragon Isles Supplies from Cataloger Jakes at the Dragonscale Basecamp in the Waking Shores. It has 5 uses before it disappears. Alternatively, you can buy the Sturdy Expedition Shovel from the auction house. It has 20 uses before it disappears. I would suggest farming Dirt in the Ohn’ahran Plains specifically due to the high density of piles.

Once you’ve finally looted the required treasure map, right click it in your inventory and you should be able to see where it is in the Plains on your map. Alternatively, it should be at the coordinates 32.47 38.15. Upon opening it, you’ll get the polearm Stolen Shikaar Warspear.

Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader (38)

Emerald Gem Cluster

Lastly, you’ll need to find the treasure map Emerald Gardens Explorer’s Notes. You have to unlock treasure maps as mentioned in the section above. The method for getting this map is the exact same as well, except for the fact you will need to be renown 21 with the Dragonscale Expedition first to be able to loot it. It also has a very low drop chance.

Once you’ve looted the map, you can find the Emerald Gem Cluster inside a cave to the east of the Shady Sanctuary in the Ohn’ahran Plains.. The cave entrance is at the coordinates 32.69 55.68. Go all the way to the back of the cave and turn left. The Cluster should be right up against the wall.

Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader (39)

You will loot a Glimmering Ysemerald Cluster. You can use this item for one of two things. The first is using it as a reagent to craft a Jeweled Emerald Whelpling pet. If you’re not a jewelcrafter on the character that looted the Cluster, you can place a crafting order at the Artisan’s Market in Valdrakken so another player can make it for you. The other reagents to craft the pet are: 50 Glossy Stone, 2 Ysemerald, 2 Elemental Harmony, and 1 Illimited Diamond, which can all be found on the auction house.

Alternatively, it can be used to buy the sword Emerald Dragonflame Blade from Unatos inside the Seat of the Aspects (where the main city portals are) in Valdrakken. The other reagents for the sword are 5 Tallstrider Sinew and 600 Dragon Isles Supplies. Additonally, you must be renown 29 with the Valdrakken Accord on one of your characters to be able to purchase it.
