What ATM can I withdraw American Express? ›

You can withdraw cash anywhere you see an American Express logo, including unlimited fee-free ATM withdrawals with your Debit Card at over 70,000 Allpoint® and MoneyPass^® ATM locations nationwide. Serve^® American Express^® Prepaid Debit Accounts: You can enjoy FREE ATM withdrawals at over 38,000 ATMs in the MoneyPass^® ATM network in the US. Transactions at non-MoneyPass ATMs have an up to $2.50 Serve fee. ATM operator fees and decline fees may also apply.

Several banks and credit unions offer American Express credit cards, including the U.S. Bank, USAA, Navy Federal and American Express itself, among others. However, third-party-issued Amex cards aren't all that common because American Express is both a card issuer and a card network.

ATM Withdrawals

At Allpoint^® and MoneyPass^® locations in the U.S., you can withdraw cash and get account information with no fee. Access to ATMs outside of the Allpoint^® and MoneyPass^® network are subject to fees by the ATM owner and/or network. ATM withdrawal limits apply.

When you add money to your Serve Prepaid Debit Account, the funds will be placed by us into one or more custodial accounts (“Custodial Account(s)”) we maintain for the benefit of Serve accountholders at one or more Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (“FDIC”)-insured banks (currently American Express National Bank).

Select the withdrawal option to start the transaction. The ATM may label the withdrawal option “cash advance” when using a credit card. Some ATMs may ask you to choose between a checking, credit, or debit transaction. Select the credit option.

The American Express Serve prepaid card withdrawal limit is $750 per day. Please note that the ATM you are withdrawing from may impose its own limit, which could be lower than $750. For more information, please call customer service at 1‑800‑954‑0559.

Where is American Express not accepted? One major retailer that doesn't accept American Express is Costco. Additionally, some small businesses may not accept American Express, since it tends to charge merchants higher fees than other major payment networks, like Visa and Mastercard.

If you use Wells Fargo Merchant Services with a Wells Fargo business deposit account, you'll get the funds from Visa^®, Mastercard^®, Discover^® Network, and American Express^® transactions as soon as the next business day.

American Express appears to primarily pull credit reports from Experian, but this doesn't mean it doesn't occasionally pull from one or both of the other major consumer credit bureaus as well.

You can get a Credit One Bank American Express® Card cash advance by using your card and PIN at any ATM that accepts American Express. Call customer service at (877) 825-3242 to request a PIN if you don't already have one.

How does the Direct Express^® card work? Each month, your money is automatically deposited to your Direct Express® card account on your payment date. You can go to any bank, credit union, or ATM that shows the Mastercard® logo, even if you do not have a bank account.
